Code of Conduct

Code of Ethics for the Virginia Satir Global Network

As a matter of principle “The Virginia Satir Global Network Code of Conduct” serves as a guiding framework for its mission to further the creation of healthy and just relationships with self and others based upon the teachings of Virginia Satir.  This code of conduct is, by necessity, general in outlining broad ethical principles; it is not a detailed set of recommended practices on specific issues and is informed and guided by:

  • Valuing the worth and dignity of all persons;
  • Committing to promoting inclusiveness, universal access and social justice;
  • Committing to a safe and nurturing environment, free from all forms of discrimination and conduct that can be considered harassing, coercive or disruptive;
  • Respecting each individual’s privacy, confidentiality, self-determination and autonomy;
  • Aspiring toward congruent relationships based on mutual respect, fairness and openness;
  • Holding each other accountable in terms of ethical behavior;
  • Committing to being responsible stewards of the resources of VSGN.
