Introduction

Satir Whole Person Development Association of Malaysia (herein-after refer as SWPDAM) is a Non-profit Gaining Organization, with its aim to encourage individuals, families and the communities to embrace a positive attitude towards life and personal growth, through professional counseling services and training programmes.

The formation of SWPDAM is an outcome of the contributions from a group of counselors, social worker and volunteers whom believe in the philosophy and teaching of SATIR Model that promotes wholistic health and education. Since its establishment in year 2005, SWPDAM had successfully organized a series of training courses, which had attracted people from all walks of life whom wish to achieve personal growth.

The aim of SWPDA is to integrate and consolidate the life energy of those who care for life, with positive thinking towards self-growth and life-long learning, and, looking forward for the realization of harmonic interpersonal relationship through professional counseling services and training courses. Through promoting and providing different types of training workshop and activities at SWPDA, we hope that we are able to contribute to the harmony in families and communities and to establish a better society.

Mission

Mission of SWPDA is to promote "Satir Growth Model" in Malaysia. We hope to attract people who are passionate about lives, who have positive beliefs in continuous learning and development, who have trust in harmonious inter-personal relationship, together we shine to provide professional and responsible counseling and training activities and encourage positive beliefs in the growth and harmonious inter-personal relationship among individual, family and community.

Objective

The goal of SWPDAM is to promote Virginia Satir philosophy and practice for the professional helpers and the general public to acquire personal growth and family therapy methods, and apply them in daily lives.
