Meet the Training Team:
This workshop is led by Joanne Perold and Marcus Blankenship, experienced leadership coaches and seasoned Satir practitioners, with support from Jean McLendon and David Kiel—internationally recognized facilitators with decades of experience in organizational change and Satir-based leadership development.
Joanne Perold is an agile leadership coach, systems thinker, and facilitator with extensive experience supporting leaders in complex organizations across Africa and Europe. She is known for helping people move through uncertainty with clarity, connection, and compassion.
Marcus Blankenship brings a background in engineering leadership, organizational coaching, and team development. He specializes in helping technical leaders grow into people-centered managers by integrating systems thinking with Satir-informed practices.
Jean McLendon is widely considered one of the world’s leading experts in the Satir Growth Model. Having studied directly with Virginia Satir for nearly 20 years, Jean is recognized globally for her mastery of Satir’s work and her ability to bring it to life in diverse settings—from therapy and coaching to organizational leadership. With over four decades of experience, she has trained thousands of professionals internationally, helping individuals and systems transform with profound clarity, compassion, and effectiveness. Jean’s facilitation is known for its depth, precision, and heart, making her a beacon in the continued evolution and application of the Satir Model worldwide.
David Kiel is a distinguished leader and organizational development authority with decades of experience driving change across higher education, public institutions, government, and nonprofit sectors. Over 20 years, he designed and led innovative faculty leadership programs at UNC–Chapel Hill and Duke University. His work integrates the Satir Growth Model with systems thinking, action research, and group dynamics to foster sustainable organizational transformation. David is an accomplished author and a respected member of the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science, with a Doctor of Public Health from UNC–Chapel Hill. He has taught organizational behavior at multiple public universities and continues to advise leaders on culture, change management, and performance.
