Inspiration – Institute for Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy in the Czech Republic

This week we are featuring our affiliate in the Czech Republic. It is a non-profit non-governmental organization focusing on education for psychologists, therapists, social workers and everyone who wants to learn more about their own self and their families, resources and possibilities. The group has 13 members.
They offer a long term accredited training in Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy MOVISA VII which includes 695 hours of theory and experiential practice, 30 hours of individual psychotherapy and 30 hours of individual supervision. The training group of 30 trainees is led by Lubica Lichorobiecová (director of the training), Petr Štěpaník and Jitka Varyšová. Movisa VII trainees also participate in our research focusing on the effectiveness of the training program.
As you can see from the picture, in October 2017, Steve Buckbee and Michael Dupont from the US met with them and offered three different trainings. One group of experienced Satir therapists focused 3 days on using family maps and family reconstruction in therapeutic practice, the other two groups participated in 2 day workshops “Working with Addicted Client” and “Supporting Families in Divorce Situations”. All together they had 96 participants and according to their reactions, they had a very good and useful time. It was Steve and Mike´s third visit in Inspiration and we truly appreciate our cooperation.
In addition to the extensive trainings they offer, one of their members, Ondrej Sekera, published an article in the Satir International Journal Vol 5, No 1 (2017) on Psychotherapeutic Training MOVISA (Model of Virginia Satir). The article introduces research results, namely the factors and circumstances that influenced trainees attending psychotherapeutic training MOVISA IV. It monitors, in particular, specific impacts the training had on the trainees.
