Journey to Self June 4th to 6th 2011
AND
Family reconstruction June 10th to 13th 2011
Journey to Self: Virginia Satir created a number of healing and integrating processes to help make sense of ourselves and each other. Her objectives were personal growth and congruent communication, helping individuals to become “more fully human”. This involves appreciating our past and the resources we developed as we grew up in our family of origin. Satir processes allow us to give full expression to the resources we wish to utilize, and to let go of or transform learnings that are no longer useful to us.
—————————————–
The Program: family reconstruction -A process of transformation developed by Virginia Satir-the objective of the three-generational Family Reconstruction process developed by Virginia Satir is to revisit one’s family roots and to meet with and understand our parents (or major childhood care-givers) as people, instead of seeing them only in their stereotyped roles. It is a powerful psychodynamic process that provides an opportunity to update the past and reduce the negative impact of early experiences and learnings. Letting go of what is no longer useful provides the freedom to make new choices and access deeper recognition and acceptance of your self and others.
