How we talk within our own system as humans and how we humans make contact with others was the focus of her work. International Human Learning Resources Network(IHLRN)  is a organization that was  begun by Virginia Satir in 1970 to foster human growth and development by means of a conference that focuses on innovations in family therapy and intervention tools that she and others had developed, and other recent developments.

Say It Straight  tm (SIS) is a research-based education and training program that results in empowering communication skills and behaviors, increased self-awareness, self-efficacy, personal and social responsibility, positive relationships and quality of life; and decreased alienation, risky or destructive behaviors, such as alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, eating disorders, violence, precocious sexual behavior and behaviors leading to HIV/AIDS.  SIS creates opportunities for students and adults to experience their strengths.
