A letter addressed to Sharon Loeschen, President of Satir Global from Suk Yin as to why she decided to become a member of Satir Global:

“Three to four years ago the name Satir appeared in our Family Physician College Journal, I can’t remember the details, the quotes just made sense to me. So I searched our local library and borrowed this tatty book called, Peoplemaking (without “The New”). I read it again and again and it helped me further understand my family and I started to take action to bring my family of origin together. I think my husband’s comment with regard to a recent visit to UK to visit my family sums it all. “You are relating to your siblings and mother in a mature adult way.”
I somehow attracted a lot of patients with “mood disorders” in my practice as a family doctor. I’ve always known that there was more to it than symptoms, what I could offer was limited to the medical model, reading those difficult to understand psychology books had not helped me to manage their problems better either. In 2007, the frustration of being stuck threw me into a chaotic state. Fortunate for me, Dr. Andy Cheung, a collueage introduced me to Grace Yung. I participated in her workshops and completed the Professional Certificate Course in Individual and Family Therapy using the Satir Model in 2009. With the continuing guidance and nurturing from Grace’s centre, I am more grounded and able to view human life with more hope.
I look forward to continuing this exciting learning path.
Regards,
Suk Ying
