Information about Continuing Education
 

We are excited to be able to offer continuing education credits for attending the different sessions at the 2008 Satir World Conference. 

 

The Virginia Satir Global Network (formerly Avanta) is an approved Continuing Education provider for the following agencies: National Board of Certified Counselors (Approval #5224), and the Board of Behavior Science (PCE #219) for LCSW and MFT in California. Also Continuing Education Units are being offered through the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work.

 

How many credits can I receive?

The number of continuing education units (CEU) will depend upon the number of sessions you attend. Each session that has met certain regulatory criteria is allowed any where from 1.5 to 6.75 credits. The number of CEUs being given is shown on each program description listed on the website under “Conference Program”. The maximum available is 30.

The University of Denver School of Social Work will award one continuing education (CEU) unit per 2 contact hours, rounding up to the nearest whole number.

 

How can I get credit for attending the 2008 Satir World Conference?

A certificate of attendance showing the total number of credits for which you are eligible will be mailed to you after the conference. ONLY those who have signed into each presentation and completed an evaluation on each session will receive a certificate.

 

 What are the important steps?

To receive credits you must sign the attendance sheet available at each presentation site.

Complete an evaluation after each presentation you attend. The Evaluation Form (white) is found in your Continuing Education packet that will be available at the registration table or in the bookstore.

Return your completed evaluations the bookstore. There will be a place for all evaluations to be received beginning on the first day of the conference.

 
  •  

For those wanting professional credits from your own state, obtain a course syllabus from the presenter and along with the Certificate of Attendance we will provide you after the conference submit the information to your own agency.

Please Note: Those attending the post-conference “Enriching Your Relationship with Yourself and Others: will receive a separate certificate of completion for 6.75 CEU. The reason is this presentation is part of the Virginia Satir Global Network Certification for attending this course. 

 

 What is the cost for the credits?

Continuing Education Units (CEU) is provided by the Virginia Satir Global Network at non-charge.

Continuing Education Units (CEU) is provided by the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work is $20.00 per person. This fee is payable at the beginning of the conference. The check is payable to the Virginia Satir Global Network.
